Our Vision

“To dream the impossible dream”

I have a dream of transformation inside of me, a dream for Missouri, a dream that will not let go, a dream that motivates me to action.  This dream or vision of future possibilities looks like this:

  • Missouri turns back toward the Lord and His ways
  • The governor and state legislators seek the Lord for His will and direction
  • Congressional advisors are a group of trusted prophetic voices
  • Laws are passed that legislate Biblical principles
  • Judges ask for wisdom from the Judge of the earth
  • The name of the Lord is lifted up above the name of human reasoning and  political spirits
  • Prayer is restored to schools and the Bible is a part of the curriculum
  • The gospel of Jesus Christ is presented to every person
  • The opportunity for personal transformation by the power of the Holy Spirit is offered to all
  • Missouri is a state of refuge, and a House of Prayer for all nations.

Is this dream possible?  If not, then our prayers for this state have a futility about them that deflates my hopes, and gives me a sense of helplessness.  Is it not possible that while darkness gets darker in the earth that the light of the gospel could also get brighter in Missouri?   Is our state beyond hope for revival and transformation?  I think not!

I have not been able to shake this dream; I have not been able to let go of it as though it were my own thoughts and hopes. Surely the God of the universe, who works through His servants, can transform a state through prayer, fasting, and righteous leadership.  Surely the Lord could open the way in Missouri, as He did in Egypt by raising up a Joseph generation, as He did in India and Ethiopia by raising up an Esther generation, as He did in Midian by raising up a Gideon generation.  Perhaps deliverance will come to our state through leaders already in place, or perhaps the Lord is grooming a deliverer behind the scenes as He did with Moses, Joseph, or Paul.

It is true that the Lord is our ultimate deliverer, manifesting Himself through those who will yield to His purposes, but He comes in response to a cry from His people.  He comes in response to heartfelt prayers prayed in humility.

II Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.”

A vision for a statewide prayer, decree, and kingdom advancement people has been released.  An ekklesia, a governmental remnant who hear from heaven and decree God’s will into the earth is rising up. Network Ekklesia International is a newly formed apostolic network led by Apostle Dutch Sheets, whose vision is “Awakening in our Day” and “Transformation in our Lifetime.”  Missouri Prayer Global Mission is aligned with NEI.  Jesus used the Greek work ekklesia, that is translated church, meaning a people of God “called out” from the world.  To the Greeks, ekklesia meant an assembly of people set apart to govern the affairs of a state or nation.  To the Romans, it meant a group of people sent in to a conquered region to alter the culture until it became like Rome.  They infiltrated government, social structure, language, schools, etc. until everyone talked and acted like Romans.  To us, as the “called out” church of God, it speaks of our authority in prayer, decree, and spiritual legislation to change the atmosphere over regions, cities, and society to align with heaven.  This is not the ‘church’ many of us grew up with, but it is the church God meant us to be.

Seven influential ruling spheres in the earth need the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the influence of God’s people.  These spheres or mountains of society are:  arts and entertainment, media, education, government, family, business, and religion (church).  In the restoration of the apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral, and teaching gifts lies the key to influencing these mountains toward kingdom culture.  For too long, the church has operated behind four walls, rather than penetrating our culture with the ways and purposes of God.

Here are a few targets we are hitting in prayer and decree to transform society and our territory:

Restoring Godly Foundations in Missouri

Isaiah 22:33 “For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us.”

Beginning in April of 2000, Missouri Prayer along with church leaders and intercessors have been praying for righteous foundations to be restored.  Five foundational decisions have been made in gatherings across this state:

Foundational Decisions:

  1. We chose the Presence of God in Missouri and not the programs of men based on Exodus 33.
  2. We chose the Spirit of Truth and reject deception and delusion based on John 16.
  3. We chose the Kingdom of God, righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, and not the kingdom of man, manipulation, domination, and control based on  Romans 14:17.
  4. We chose the law of Life in Christ Jesus and not the law of sin and death based on Romans 8:2.
  5. We chose the fruits of the Spirit and not the works of the flesh from Galatians 5.

One purpose in advancing prayer and corporate intercession and decree is to continue this process of restoring Godly foundations.

Psalms 89: 14 “Righteousness and Justice are the foundation of your Throne, love and   faithfulness go before you.”

God’s throne or rulership sits on a foundation of righteousness and justice.  This was established in Jesus Christ, but must be set in place in Missouri through prayer, repentance, and worship.

Secondly this ekklesia would:

Release the Vision for Transforming Prayer

Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish…”

Amos 5:14-15 says, “Seek good and not evil, that you may live; and thus may the Lord God of hosts be with you, just as you have said! Hate evil, love good, and establish justice at the gate!”  As we come together to pray for our state, we will be praying for justice to roll down like a mighty river, and righteousness like an overflowing stream.

After five foundational decisions were made in Missouri, the next part of the vision was to gather people together in the different regions of the state for worship gatherings in order to create an atmosphere of worship where the Presence of God could come and release healing, restoration, revelation, and impartation of His love and destiny for our lives.  Regional worship gatherings have been held in many regions of Missouri culminating with 24 simultaneous worship gatherings on April 24th, 2005 where we stood for Life, the Presence of God, and worship, declaring, “Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord.” Psalms 150  These gatherings are continuing indoors and outdoors for the purpose of giving God the glory that is due His name.

This atmosphere for the Presence of God will continue as we practice His Presence and seek His face.  Thirdly our heart is to create this House of Prayer atmosphere in Missouri.

My House will be a House of Prayer

Isaiah 56:7 “…for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

We are in a battle for our nation, our state, and the next generation.  This battle will be won on our knees in prayer, not in our courts in debate; it will be won in the courtroom of heaven as we stand in our position as intercessors between heaven and earth, asking the Lord for mercy for our sins and grace for the release of our destiny.

This house of prayer is not a model, nor is it an established entity that exists geographically in a particular area.  It is a constant heart cry for the Presence of God, for His heart and purposes to fill the earth.  It is a corporate house, not of one voice echoing another, but of heartfelt prayer for the transforming of hearts and the healing of our land.

In this vision, the next generation is key to not only possessing the land, but also occupying it for His glory.

The Next Generation

A generation hangs in the balance while we wait between two opinions.  The time has come to hold the standard of Truth above the standards of our culture.  Who will stand in the righteousness of Jesus Christ and be a plumb line for His holiness in the earth?  When the Son of Man returns, will He find faith on the earth?  Yes, He will find it in those who have laid down their lives for the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Missouri Prayer Global Mission exists to generate prayer that will steer our inhabitants out of the sea of destruction into the dwelling place of God’s Presence.  He, the Lord, desires to be a refuge for us as we seek His face, and turn from our complacency and compromise.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ enthroned on our worship gives Him access to the territory He has given us stewardship over.

The Government will be on His Shoulders

Isaiah 9:6-7 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end; He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.”

This increase of the government of God in Missouri will come about as we recognize our call to stand as the government of God in the earth, as the ekklesia decreeing His will into our atmosphere.

Missouri Prayer Global Mission also exists to equip the saints for the work of the ministry.  Many people go through life not realizing that they have a destiny that was written for them before they were born.  See Psalms 139.  This book of destiny remains untouched and unfulfilled until we recognize the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord.  He can then guide us onto the road of destiny laid out for us by His desire to give us an abundant life full of His glory.

As we come together as the ekklesia of God, knowing our authority in the spirit realm, standing in intercession for the will of God in the earth, and representing Jesus to a lost world, we will see the establishment of His rule and reign over our territory.  It is possible.  Missouri is after all, “the show me your glory state.”  Let His Presence and Lordship return to our land.
